Driven by a profound belief in music’s power to transform and communicate, pianist Chuanyi Xiang brings a deeply personal and introspective voice to her performances. Chuanyi has appeared as soloist and recitalist with the Meadows Symphony Orchestra, China Philharmonic Orchestra, and China Academia Orchestra, collaborating with conductors including Edward Cumming, En Shao, Peter Burwic, and Yi Huang. Recent highlights include a concerto performance at Caruth Auditorium in Dallas, as well as recitals at the Westhampton Performing Arts Center, Paul Hall at The Juilliard School, and the Aspen Music Festival. Born into a musical family in China, she earned her Bachelor of Music from the China Conservatory, where she studied with Hong Fu and was mentored by Ruoyu Huang. She subsequently received her Master of Music from The Juilliard School, studying with Yoheved Kaplinsky and Jerome Lowenthal. She currently continues her artistic development at the SMU Meadows School of the Arts under the guidance of Sergei Babayan.
