Alexandra Dovgan

Alexandra Dovgan was born in 2007 into a family of musicians and began her piano studies when she was four years old. At the age of five, she made a name for herself by passing the entrance exams of the Central Academic Music School of the Moscow State Conservatory, where he studied under the guidance of Professor Mira Marchenko.

Alexandra has been a prize winner in five international competitions, including the Vladimir Krainev International Piano Competition in Moscow, the Young Pianists Competition “Astana Piano Passion” and the International Television Competition for Young Musicians “The Nutcracker”. Alexandra was only 10 years old when she won the Grand Prix at the Il Concurso International “Grand Piano Competition”. The recordings of this event have traveled the world on Medici.TV and Youtube, moving musicians and piano lovers all over the world.

Despite her young age, Alexandra has already played in the most prestigious concert halls in the world such as the Berlin Philharmonie, Théâtre des Champ-Elysées in Paris, the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Vienna Kontzerhaus, Victoria Hall in Geneva, Konzerthuset in Stockholm, receiving a standing ovation and excellent reviews.

Since her acclaimed recital at the Salzburg Festival in July 2019, Alexandra has impressed critics and audiences alike with an impressive series of international debuts: in June 2021, she performed alongside Gustavo Dudamel and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, in September 2022 she made her debut in Japan playing with the Kioi Sinfonietta and Trevor Pinnock and in April 2023 she performed alongside the Tonhalle Orchestra in Zurich under the baton by Paavo Jarvi.

He has also collaborated with the Salzburg Mozarteum Orchestra and Trevor Pinnock, the Stockholm Philharmonic and Ton Koopman, with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and Kazushi Ono and the Slovenska Philharmonija and Philipp von Steinaecker.

Among Alexandra’s most important future engagements are concerts at the Vienna Konzerthaus, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, the Tonhalle in Zurich, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Prinzregententheater in Munich, the Sala Victoria in Geneva, Gulbenkian in Lisbon and in Turin, Milan, Basel, Barcelona, Luxembourg, Lyon and many more.

In the summer of 2023 she made her debut at the Verbier Festival and performed at prestigious European festivals such as the Roque d’Anthéron, the Rheingau Musik Festival and the Gstaad Menuhin Festival. Alexandra’s distinguishing characteristics as a pianist are her spontaneous depth and awareness and a sound of breathtaking beauty and precision. Alexandra displays impressive concentration combined with impeccable purity of expression and creative imagination, coupled with a charismatic stage presence and a unique personality.

In addition to playing the piano, Alexandra has other passions such as skiing, playing the organ, learning ballet and math, and spending time with her little brother.
