Ziyue Tan began to learn the piano at the age of 4 and was admitted to the Affiliated High School of the Central Conservatory of Music in 2018, where she studied by Prof. Xinning Zhang and Prof. Taihang Du. During her studies, she won the first prize in the Amateur Group of the Hope Cup in 2018, the second prize and the Chopin Ballade Prize in the Group B of the Xinghai Cup in 2018, the first prize in Keyboard Instrumental Performance at the Beijing College Skills Competition in 2019, and the silver prize in the Professional B Group at the Asia-Pacific Finals of the Eighth Mendelssohn International Piano Competition in 2020.
She has also attended masterclasses with notable pianists such as Cyprien Katsaris, Francois Frederic Guy, Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort, Florian Noack and Georg Friedrich Schenck.
Currently, Ziyue Tan is studying at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln by Prof. Severin von Eckardstein.
