The grand final of this third edition, held at the Teatro Cervantes, was marked by the high artistic level and the great quality of the performances by this year’s three finalists, along with the Málaga Philharmonic Orchestra and the renowned Armenian conductor, Sergey Smbatyan.
After an intense deliberation by the jury, the first prize was awarded to Elizaveta Ukrainskaia, who gave a magnificent performance of P.I. Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 Op. 23 in B-flat. The second prize went to Roman Fediurko, and the third to Shion Ota.
Thus concludes an edition that establishes the International Piano Competition Ciudad de Málaga as a benchmark for young artists, reaffirming its commitment to artistic excellence and promoting emerging talent.
