RESULTS:LIST OF PRIZEWINNERS
Last Saturday the final of the I International Piano Competition “Ciudad de Málaga” was held, in which the three finalists performed together with the Malaga Philharmonic Orchestra and maestro Salvador Vázquez.
Emin Kiourktchian, 19 years old from Spain and Sergey Belyavsky, 30 years old from Russia performed Sergey Rachmaninoff’s Concerto for Piano and Orchestra No. 2 Op.18 in C minor and the 25-year-old Chinese Jialin Yao the Concerto No. 1 op.11 in E minor by Frédéric Chopin.
The jury chaired by Pablo Amorós and made up of Sten Lassmann, José María Moreno, Juan Miguel Moreno, Alberto Portugheis, Jorge Luis Prats and Nadia Zdanova decided that the third prize would go to Emin Kiourktchian, in addition to the prize for the best classified Spanish pianist. The second prize and the prize for the best performer of the semifinal went to the Chinese pianist Jialin Yao. And the first prize, with the five-concert tour, went to the 30-year-old Russian pianist Sergey Belyavsky.
