He began his musical studies at the Affiliated Middle School of the Tianjin Conservatory of Music with Prof. Wanqi Feng. At the age of 16, he commenced his Bachelor’s studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich in the class of Prof. Michael Schäfer. He is currently pursuing his Master’s degree at the University of Music, Drama and Media Hannover with Prof. Alexander Schimpf. He is also pursuing a Master’s degree in chamber music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with Prof. Silke Avenhaus and Prof. Wen-Sinn Yang. He has received significant artistic inspiration with distinguished pianists, including Andrzej Jasiński, Janina Fialkowska, Elisabeth Leonskaja, Michel Béroff, Lilya Zilberstein… Ren Zhang has been a scholarship holder of “Yehudi Menuhin Live Music Now” since 2022. He performed in festivals and concerts hall, including the Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Act City Hamamatsu Concert Hall, Ettal Summer Music Festival and Bergson Kunstkraftwerk in Munich. Some of his performances were recorded by amadeus.tv, MusicToday.CN and BR-Klassik of Bayerischer Rundfunk.
